Varsity Boys Lacrosse District Finals Bound
On 4/13/24, the varsity boys lacrosse team hosted Jensen Beach High School on the Michael J. Mersky Field for the Class 1A District 8 Semifinals. The Pirates took an early lead over the Falcons and never looked back as they clinched the victory 15-4.
Connor O'Brien dominated the field for the Pirate team, collecting 3 goals and 3 assists, followed closely by teammate Will Russell with 3 goals and 2 assists of his own. Reed Sternberg tallied 2 goals and 1 assist, and Chris Campbell and Luke Herrman netted 2 goals each. Harrison Hardin provided 1 goal and 3 assists in the victory, and Keegan Nyman and Brady McCoy netted 1 goal apiece. Charlie Corrigan added 1 assist for the Pirates. Leading the Pirates in ground balls with 7 and in faceoff wins with 19 was Nyman, and Beckley Waldrop nabbed 4 ground balls. Goalkeeper Edwin Provancher made 6 saves on 10 shots on goal.
