Introducing Java Fridays with Dr. Hirstein

SH

Starting on Friday, May 17th, a new opportunity for open dialogue will start at Saint Edward's School: "Java Fridays with Dr. Hirstein." Every Friday morning at 8:15 am, the Glass Room in the Benedict Library will be transformed into a forum for parents, faculty, staff, administration, and trustees to engage in candid conversations.

I had originally wanted these meetings to begin on Friday, May 10th, however, we have AP testing on the 10th and the library is unavailable.

The last coffee for the 2023-2024 school year will be on Friday, May 24th and then will resume in August for the 2024-2025 school year.

This initiative stems from a desire to foster an environment of transparency and collaboration within our community. There is no set agenda; rather, the floor is open for individuals to voice their thoughts, concerns, and ideas on any topic they wish to discuss.

My only stipulation for these discussions is that they be conducted with respect, civility, and a desire to listen with an open mind. As we come together to exchange perspectives and insights, it is essential that we maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. By embracing different viewpoints and engaging in constructive dialogue, we can collectively contribute to the growth and advancement of our school community.

I invite each of you to join me for Java Fridays and to take advantage of this opportunity to have your voice heard. Let us work together to build a stronger, more inclusive community where every voice matters.

Finally, we will send a parent satisfaction survey from NAIS on Wednesday, May 1st. Please be on the lookout for it. The survey will remain open until May 24th. We hope everyone takes this opportunity to provide feedback.

I look forward to our conversations ahead, and I look forward to seeing you around campus!
