  | LegoLand Field Trip Entralls 5/16/2013
Fourth grade students explored energy and simple machines using Lego Robotics. A field trip to LEGOLAND on May 9th was the culminating activity for this unit. In the Energy Lab, students turned solar energy into kinetic energy. After racing their solar cars, students experimented with light and shadows to make their Lego cars stop and go. Students explored simple machines, gears, friction, gravity, motion, and speed in the Build and Test Imagination Zone. Students had a wonderful time building and racing their cars down inclined planes.
Students were able to relate hands-on activities from school to LEGOLAND attractions. At Kid Powered Towers, children worked with a partner to pull themselves to the top of a tower using a pulley system. The roller coasters were a big hit, and the children loved MINILAND.
