 |  Jamari Williams Awarded GYAC Scholarship 5/11/2012 Senior Jamari Williams is the recipient of a $2,000 Gifford Youth Activity Center (GYAC) Scholarship. Jamari, who is a volunteer with the GYAC, will be attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. The GYAC Scholarship is awarded to African-American males who have demonstrated academic achievement and exemplify character and good citizenship, and have been involved with the GYAC.

 Key Club Convenes in Orlando 5/11/2012 Four Saint Edward’s students are attending the Florida Key Club Convention in Orlando this weekend: 10th graders Vinutha Kumar, Amber Quinlan and Haley Smith, and 11th grader Molly Ramsey. Bookstore Manager Patty Baker is the Club’s advisor and is accompanying the group.

 Liz Clem Honored by Kiwanis Club 5/11/2012
The Kiwanis Club of Vero Beach-Treasure Coast honored senior Liz Clem with the Kiwanis Leadership Award for Saint Edward’s School at its meeting on May 9, 2012. Liz is the Founder of the Pirate Kiwanis Key Club at Saint Edward’s, and has served as President for the past two years. The Leadership Award included a $50.00 prize for the Pirate Key Club at Saint Edward’s School.

 Sea Turtle Conservancy Project 5/11/2012
Dr. Charles Magal and Mrs. Helen Stamatacos, parents of Upper School Student, Nicholas Magal, have generously sponsored a sea turtle for Saint Edward’s School. Rocio Johnson, from the Sea Turtle Conservancy, will share information about sea turtles on Wednesday, May 23rd from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the Waxlax Auditorium. All are invited!

   Presidential Medal of Freedom Honoree Headlines Saint Edward’s Commencement Saint Edward’s thirty-eighth commencement ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21st in the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts with Head of School Michael J. Mersky presiding. Dr. Donna E. Shalala, President of the University of Miami and Presidential Medal of Freedom Honoree, will deliver the Commencement address to the 63 graduates of the class of 2011.

 Brickman Family of Vero Beach First to Join Saint Edward’s Endowment Initiative Mike Mersky, Head of School, announced today that Julie and Steven Brickman have established the Julie and Steven Brickman Family Endowed Faculty Chair at Saint Edward’s School in Vero Beach. Joining them in making the first commitment to Saint Edward’s School’s endowment initiative are Sally and Dick Brickman, who will help establish another endowed faculty chair when the School has completed a challenge and raised additional endowment dollars.

 Discovery Channel Airs Profile Series April 5, 2011 The Profile Series has announced that a special edition half hour show which includes a segment on Saint Edward’s School will air on the Discovery Channel on Tuesday, April 5th at 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
