Bethlehem, PA – Senior Rosie Sherry was selected to the Brine IWLCA/US Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Region second team. Sherry played a key role on the Lehigh squad responsible for the biggest turnaround in Division I during the 2003 season.
The defender ranked seventh in the nation this season with an average of 2.71 caused turnovers per contest. Her 38 total caused turnovers led the Patriot League. Her 3.14 ground balls per game also ranked among the league’s top four.
"This a great honor for Rosie and we are all thrilled for her," head coach Judy Baxter said. "Her hard work and determination played a key role in the progress we made this season and she was a great leader for us."
The Mountain Hawks finished the season at 10-4, an improvement of six games over 2002. Lehigh also made its first ever appearance in the Patriot League Championships, losing in the semifinals.
Sherry, a team captain, was the only senior on the 2003 team, which returns all other players.
