SUNDIAL SHARES: ODD POSSIBILITIES by Clara Masseau - Artwork by Julie Young

mcampione
I like to step back or lie back or sit back and delve into odd possibilities. Obviously, our world is faced with enormous problems that seem to take over and mask what the rest of the world is doing. Just like me, a huge number of people do not have to stand up and face the evil and ever-persisting struggles that arise from all of us existing and living together. So, I think, what is everyone doing? How many people, right now, are smiling a huge, genuine grin? How many humans are laughing or crying or both? Why are they feeling the way they do? Are they hot; are they cold; are their conditions just right? How many people are in the air right now – whether it’s from simply jumping with their two feet off the ground or whether they are lounging up in an airplane. How many people are scratching their nose or their beard? We all have insanely unique journeys and tasks and personalities, all seven billion of us, but in this moment we have so much in common. Someone somewhere must be writing in a journal as well. How many random people are thinking the exact same thought? Collectively our neurons transmit endlessly, for we all inhale and exhale on and on. Are they hot; are they cold; are their conditions just right?
