Sixth Grade Students Feel the LUV of 3D Printing

Chris Stephenson (lk)
Students in Mr. Leonhardt, Mrs. Bishoff, and Mrs. Fykes classes are working on an interdisciplinary collaborative project with Level Up Village (LUV). They are in global collaboration with a school in Mexico, and through a design project using Tinkercad and 3D printing, they will work together to design a solar flashlight to be used by students that need light in countries where electricity might not be so readily available.

The students in Mr. Leonhardt' Science classes spent their day with a demo in 3D printing and talked about implications of plastics on our environment and the terminology that they will need to successfully design a unique solution and print it out.  Look out for updates from the teachers and the students on this project in the coming weeks.
