A Traveler’s Journey
A narrative poem

A leaf hangs from a tree among its friends.
When the wind blows, it twists and bends.
From its place, the leaf slowly shifts,
until, along with the wind, it drifts.
The only indication of its escape around
is a small, insignificant, rustling sound.
Further and further the leaf flies,
up and up into the bright blue skies
Suddenly, the crisp autumn wind stops.
Lower and lower the leaf falls and drops.
Finally, our lone traveler lands on a pile of leaves,
and our leaf is exactly where it belongs (or so it believes)
