6th Grade 20 x 20 Presentations

To consolidate the knowledge that they built before reading The Pearl, 6th-grade English students created a Pecha-Kucha presentation of their findings. Pecha Kucha means 'chit chat' in Japanese, and it is a 20 by 20 presentation format where 20 slides are displayed for 20 seconds each. Students worked in groups to record their commentaries and insert them into their Google Slideshows as a voice-over. The constraints of this format provided them with practice in communicating their ideas in a concise manner, as well as the opportunity to learn the new technology skill of embedding sound in a presentation.
