Exceptional Showing at Districts for Varsity Track & Field

The varsity track and field team competed in the Class 1A District 13 Championship Meet on 4/22/23 at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens. As a team, the girls placed 5th overall and the boys placed 7th.

For the boys team, Tyler Ross placed 5th in the 110m Hurdles (19.47), 6th in the Long Jump (5.61m), 7th in the Triple Jump (11.05m), and 10th in the 200m (25.92). In field events, William Suleman placed 8th in the Discus (15.86m) and 10th in Javelin (18.89m).

For the girls team, Elizabeth Campbell recorded a 4th place finish in the 400m with a (1:02.96) to qualify for Regionals, and teammate Selma Memet placed 9th with 1:18.91. Coming in 5th in the 3200m and setting a personal record was Jacquelyn Perrin (13:25.10), followed by Anna Marie Zugrave in 7th (14:20.20) and Tyler Colgan in 9th (14:30.60). In the 1600m, J. Perrin earned 6th place (6:02.45), Zugrave placed 9th (6:33.48), and Colgan placed 10th and hit a personal record for the event (6:33.87). Luna Rivera (2:49.08) and Alexandra Perrin (3:09.72) clocked a 9th and 12th place finish respectively in the 800m. In the girls 200m, Marlo Wilkerson placed 14th with 30.69.  Sophie Rosenstein achieved 5th place in the 400m Hurdles at 1:24.89, to set a personal record. Finishing 6th in the 100m Hurdles and setting a personal record was Campbell with 19.79, followed by teammate Rosenstein in 9th at 23.40.

In Relay events, the girls 4x800 Relay team, consisting of Colgan, Zugrave, A. Perrin, and J. Perrin, finished 3rd at 11:53.80 and qualified for Regionals. The 4x400 Relay team of Rosenstein, Adterria Holloway, Mia Perez, and Campbell also qualified for Regionals with their 4th place finish of 4:57.33. The 4x100 Relay team of Holloway, Wilkerson, Perez, and Campbell finished in 5th with 54.82.

In field events, Perez threw 20.28m in Javelin to achieve 4th place and qualify for Regionals. Megan Baker placed 5th in Shot Put with a mark of 8.22m, 6th in Discus with 22.50m, and 7th in Javelin with 18.56m. Holloway placed 10th in Long Jump and set a personal record with a mark of 4.28m.
