From Lourdes Alvarez Rogers, MS/US art faculty: The City of Vero Beach Centennial Art Show was held in January at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Schools were only allowed to choose 3 artworks from our 6th-12th grade entries to represent our school for this exhibition. Student entries from schools of our community were printed and made into a poster. Thanks again to Monica Jennings for helping judge the entries for final selection. Please join me in congratulating the following young artists who were awarded ribbons at the show; I am extremely proud of all of them: Morgan Moss: First place, painting of orange groves on a vintage citrus crate Meredith Burgoon: Honorable Mention, painting of our downtown Theatre Plaza Will Johnson: Honorable Mention, mixed media/ 100 Years of Vero Beach (*click headline to see more photos)
