Varsity Baseball Gets Win Over Merritt Island Christian
Varsity Baseball defeated Merritt Island Christian 13-1 in their season opener on 2/25/19 at the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa.
The Pirates fired up the offense in the first inning when Anand Chundi singled scoring two runs. The Pirates put up four runs in the third inning and continued to put the pressure on in the 4th, lead by singles by Michael Mangieri, Casey Richey and Zander Beare. Travis Camp pitched a complete game for the Pirates surrendering one run on three hits in four innings striking out ten.
The Pirates combined for 11 hits as Mangieri, Richey, Beare, and Camp each managed multiple hits. Mangieri led the team with three hits in four at bats. Aidan Burdick led the team with four stolen bases, and the rest of the Pirates combined for 18 stolen bases.
The Pirates will face Jupiter Christian School from Jupiter in their first home game on 2/28/19 at 6:00 p.m.
