Varsity Baseball Beat the Lions

Varsity Baseball took an early lead that helped the Pirates defeat Covenant Christian School at West Oaks Park in Palm Bay on 4/12/19, by a score of 17-8 making five wins in a row.

Travis Camp walked and then scored on a round ball by Zander Beare in the first inning. The team pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning which started with a single by Aidan Taylor and Will Miller, walks by Philip Huddy and Travis Camp and a single by Beare scoring two runs. Huddy and Taylor both collected multiple hits for the Pirates. The Pirates offense collected nine hits and put additional runners in place with nine walks. 

The Pirates ran wild on the base-paths, stealing 11 bases against Covenant Christian in the high-scoring affair.
Corey Richey started on the mound and pitched the team to victory. He surrendered eight runs on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.  Casey Richey threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Casey recorded the last four outs to earn the save for the Pirates. 


Next game will be home against Fort Pierce Westwood High School from Fort Pierce on 4/15/19 starting at 6:00 p.m.
