MM (lk)
Freshman Morgan Moss will be headed to NYU to study art this summer at a highly competitive summer intensive program. She describes the applications process: "I am so excited and honored to be chosen for this high school Summer Art Intensive at NYU. The application process included a 500-word essay about my artistic inspirations, daily creations and different aspects of the program that attracted my interest. I would say my biggest inspirations include the world around me as well as the beauty of people and emotions. My grandmother is also one of my main inspirations, as we went to painting classes together throughout my childhood, igniting my love and passion for art. The application also required a portfolio of ten various pieces of work I have created over the past few years, including ones I have done with Mrs. Rogers and from the program I participated in last year at the University of Pennsylvania. In the portfolio I submitted, I had to describe the medium for each piece as well as come up with a title. The last portion of the application included Mrs. Rogers sending a letter of recommendation on my behalf. Attached below are some of the pieces I submitted in my portfolio.
