Cross Country Sprints to Victory at Viera Fall Classic
Varsity and junior varsity cross country participated in the Viera Fall Classic at Viera High School on 9/28/19. Many members of the boys and girls cross country teams set personal records for the season.
Leading the way for the Lady Pirates in the 5K race were Elise Mallon (21:28), Sarah Wolf (23:58), Savannah Ware (24:38), and Morgan Chapman (27:30). Hailey Rhymes, Zayna Shaikh, and Natalie Burgoon also ran their season's best times.
For the boys, Liam Kavolius set an all-time personal record of 19:02. Following closely behind were Mac Carnell (19:52), Christopher Schulze (20:06), Aidan Taylor (20:07) and Drew Sternberg (20:24).
8th grader Luke Damiani led the way for the Pirates in the JV race with a season's best 21:37.
