Abaco Relief: SES Update

MJ (lk)
In September, Saint Edward's School hosted a dress down day as a fundraiser for our neighbors in the Abacos. The generosity of our community brought in over $6,000 in aid money. Portions of the proceeds went to purchasing a shipping container that will be filled with supplies and put on a barge bound for Hope Town. The rest of the funds went toward supplies that are urgently needed for rebuilding.

Two of our senior AP art students spent last Sunday painting the container so residents will feel a little "SES love." Thank you to Catalina Pratt and Lucy Bergstrom, whose vision became reality in over 9 hours on a hot weekend day. Check out this video that shows the container coming to life.

Our first shipment went out last night, and former Pirate parent Chris McGuire posted this message on our FB page:  "Thank you Saint Edward's School for your generous donation for Abaco Relief. Today we were able to send requested supplies (storage containers, mold remediation kits, hardware, roofing supplies, etc.) to Global Empowerment Mission for delivery to the Abacos later this week. Your donation really made a difference, thank you."

Thanks to all the Pirates who supported this mission.
