Varsity Swimming Strong Contenders at Districts

The varsity boys and girls swim teams traveled to Lake Placid High School in Lake Placid on 10/26/19 for the district tournament. Both teams walked away with a 5th place overall finish. Competing alongside Saint Edward's School at the meet were The Benjamin School, John Carroll Catholic High School, Jupiter Christian School, Lake Placid High School, The Pine School, and Somerset Preparatory Academy. 

For the boys team, Jozef Wolef finished 4th place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:54.16) and 5th place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:24.35). Ben Evans (1:20.21), Ray Taft (1:20.39), and James Hollinger (1:25.09) completed the 100-yard freestyle with excellent times. Christopher Powell had an impressive showing with his 7th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:29.03).

Swift finishes in the boys 200-yard freestyle (2:18.05) and 500-yard freestyle (6:21.58) have qualified Alex Roberts to move on to regionals.

For the Lady Pirates, Alexandra Stern won two district events by placing 1st in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.28) and 500-yard freestyle (5:19.47) and has qualified to move on to regionals in those events. Also qualifying for the regionals is Faith Mead, who finished 2nd in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.48) and 3rd in the 50-yard freestyle (27.87).

Qualifying to move on the regionals with their 4th place win in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 5th place finish in the 200-yard medley relay are Stern, Mead, Laurel Logemann, and Selma Memet.


Next meet will be on 11/2/19 for the regional tournament at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, starting at 9:00 AM.
