Spotlight on Varsity Boys Tennis

Although the varsity boys tennis team only managed to play four matches before their season came to a halt, the Pirates were on an incredible winning streak. Whether playing at home or away, the team dominated the courts in their singles and doubles matches. In their games against Pine School and John Carroll Catholic High School, the boys almost shut out both opponents by winning all but one of their singles matches and both of their doubles matches each time. Not only did the Pirates finish their shortened season undefeated at 4-0, they also already swept their division in the Treasure Lake Conference.

Head Coach Chad Miller led this year's varsity boys tennis team on the courts. The tennis team coaches have shared messages regarding their successful albeit abbreviated season.

Coach Miller released the following statement regarding the 2019-20 season: "The boys tennis team finished their shortened season with a record of 4-0. After wins over all of the other schools in the Blue TLC division, the team was destined for a bid at Regionals this year. While the #1 and #5 Singles players on the team are graduating, the rest of the team is solid, competitive and is looking forward to a great season next year. Great work, Pirates!"

Joseph Van Deinse, one of the assistant coaches, also sent the following congratulatory message: "Congratulations, Pirates! We've ended the season undefeated! 4-0! And, TLC conference champs! We had some nice accomplishments in our short season. I look forward to working with you all again next year."

Saint Edward's School commends the boys tennis team for their hard work, practice, and dedication on the court, and we celebrate your amazing accomplishments in your singles and doubles matches this season.
