JV Volleyball Conquers Lady Spartans on the Court

On 9/18/20, the junior varsity volleyball team faced off against Somerset College Prep Academy in the Wachter Activities Center. Continuing their winning streak, the Lady Pirates downed the Lady Spartans in 2 sets, 25-10, 25-6.

 

Aggressive net play and a strong service game were the keys to the team's victory. The Lady Pirates collected 15 service aces during the game, with 3 each from setter Kelly Barnett, outside hitter Ivy Yang and opposite hitter Taylor Wolfe.

 

The Lady Spartans had difficulty finding any holes in the Lady Pirates' defense. The blocking of the front line by Chase Nelson, Meagan Baker and Caroline Zoltak provided few scoring opportunities for their opponents, and the balls that did break through were picked up by defensive specialists Jasmine Nunez and Alex Henriquez.
