Soup Day 2020: “Empty Bowls – Full Heart"

(lk)
Dear Saint Edward’s School Parents,
First and foremost, we would like to thank you for the many years of support you have given the Samaritan Center by participating in the annual Soup Bowl event.  Every year, our school community contributes soup in each of our divisions in order to raise funds to help the homeless families that reside at the Center as they work to rebuild their futures.

Because of the health restraints imposed by the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Samaritan Center’s 28th Annual Soup Bowl will be an “Empty Bowls – Full Heart” event.  Saint Edward’s Parents Association will be selling beautiful handmade soup bowls crafted by local artists with a collection of our families’ recipes for $25. Additionally, Flick has kindly offered to prepare two delicious soups (Chicken noodle and Chili) on November 5, so the kids can still enjoy Soup Day and donate the money traditionally collected on Soup Day.

We also invite all Saint Edwards’s families to submit their own delicious soup recipes in order to create our Soup Day Recipe Book. Please submit your recipe in a word document by email to alidavalos73@gmail.com by October 15.
Please reserve your bowl and recipe book in advance.

Thank you in advance for helping us ‘cook up’ something different this year and for your many years of supporting this beautiful tradition.

Sincerely,

Alicia Maldonado & Kristin Lockwood
