The Debut of the Hirstein Hot Dog

Last week, SES launched a partnership with Dignity Food Truck, which is a program originated by The Source, our local homeless shelter. The food truck concept was the brainchild of Tony Zorbaugh, who is the executive chef at The Source. The food truck travels to different locations during the week to provide lunches around town, and it's teaching homeless people food service skills that can eventually provide an income.

The Dignity Food truck team arrived fresh off a road trip to feed residents of Pensacola, where hurricane Sally had recently ripped through the coastline. After serving over 1,000 meals in two days, they drove in with a specialty menu that includes the Pirate Burger and (drum roll please), the Hirstein Hot Dog. Pirate football fans and visitors can order through an app, pay online, get a message that their food is ready and enjoy their delicious selections. This solution honors all Covid protocols, feeds our fans, and amounts to a joyful collaboration between The Source and Saint Edward's School. Watch for them in the parking lot on Fridays!
