Varsity Football Captures Win from Warriors

On 10/8/20, the varsity football team traveled to Lecanto to take on Seven Rivers Christian School. The Pirates, hungry for their first on the road victory, downed the Warriors, 24-14.

Although the Pirates found themselves down 0-7 early in the 2nd quarter, they quickly bounced back and held a 10-7 lead by halftime. The team sealed their imminent victory in the 4th quarter by scoring their final touchdown with 3:27 left on the clock.

For the offense, Brennan Wolfe scored on runs of 2 yards and 5 yards and tossed a 29 yard touchdown pass to Dylan Redmon. Redmon himself had 3 receptions for 86 yards. Drew Sternberg rushed for 65 yards and kicked a 23 yard field goal.

The outstanding defense was led by Josh Langsam with 2 ½ sacks, 8 tackles, and 3 assists. Grant Domenech contributed 3 ½ quarterback sacks, and Ashton Noe added 2 sacks and 6 tackles. Senior Defensive Back BT Termidor had a good showing in his first start, breaking up three passes.

The Pirates are now 2-0 for their season.
