Varsity Volleyball Captures District Title

The varsity volleyball team competed in the District Finals tournament against Merritt Island Christian School on 10/15/20 at Morningside Academy in Port Saint Lucie. For the first time in 17 years and only the 4th time in school history, the Lady Pirates came away with a trophy and a district championship by crushing the Lady Cougars in straight sets: 25-13, 25-21, 25-21.

Determined to win, the entire Lady Pirates team showed off their skills spectacularly on the court. Senior Miranda Morey earned 1 ace, 1 kill, and 1 block; and junior Alice Grace Lockwood posted 1 ace, 2 digs, 9 Kills, and 1 block. Freshman Elliotte Kahler collected 26 assists, 2 digs, and 1 ace, while junior Alexa Soderman tallied 3 aces, 12 digs, 17 kills, and 2 assists. Also helping the Lady Pirates reach victory were Meredith Burgoon with 2 aces and 13 digs, Izzy Jennings with 3 kills and 1 block, and Ellie Schrock with 1 ace and 8 digs.
