Lady Pirates Face John Carroll in Heartbreaker
On 12/1/20, the varsity girls basketball team faced rival John Carroll Catholic School at home in the Wachter Activities Center. In a back and forth battle, the Lady Pirates narrowly lost the very close game to the Lady Golden Rams 27-30.
Despite being down three players, the Lady Pirates showed heart on the court, never giving up. Raina Duggal led the night's scorers with 17 points, including two 3-pointers. Also, giving their all for the team was Dhanika Perez with 6 points, Karis Crookshank with 3 points, and Maria Hawkins with 1 point.
For the defensive end, Gaby Collazo helped her teammates hold off the Lady Golden Rams on the floor. Collazo skillfully controlled the opponent's best player on the court and limited that player's scoring opportunities.
