Ziggy Marley’s New Children’s Album

Black History Month 2021 Theme: The Black Family. Ziggy Marley, son of legendary Bob Marley, has a lovely new children's album called More Family Time.  It was written during the initial stages of the pandemic, while in quarantine with his family. Though it was released last September, it connects beautifully with the 2021 Black History Month theme: The Black Family. The songs on the album are joyful and positive with educational themes that highlight the importance of manners, exercise, nature appreciation and cherishing children. Inspired by the playful energy of his 4-year-old son, Marley wrote this album that features collaborations with other well known artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Angelique Kidjo, Sheryl Crow, Lisa Loeb, Ben Harper and others. There is even a bonus track of a Jamie Lee Curtis read-aloud from her children's book Today I Feel Silly.  The album's message of family togetherness, unconditional love, unity and happiness are perfect for these times. An added benefit is that a portion of the fees from the album go towards Marley's charity which provides help for the education and social development of Jamaica's Chepstow Primary School and the One Love Youth Camp which aims at continuing Bob's legacy, by using arts and creativity as a powerful tool for social change where it all started, in Jamaica. (The youth camp is sponsored by the Bob Marley Foundation and Ben and Jerry's Partners for Youth Empowerment Foundation and others). You can listen to the album More Family Time on Apple Music all year round and support these great causes.
