Tech Theater Students Create Podcasts

JB/GP (lk)
Last year, for the first time, Mr. Baker's Tech Theater students submitted podcasts to National Public Radio as part of a contest to amplify the voices of teenagers in America. The project was such a success that Mr. Baker is doing it again with his students. We will be releasing a podcast each week starting now, and each will have a summary by the student producer.

This week we kick off with junior Grant Pitcher's take on Dungeons & Dragons. Mr. Baker notes that "Grant really went the extra mile with his podcast, doing foley sound effects work all over campus to create the ambiance of an enormous battle with swords and shields and arrows flying by your ear!  His attention to the design and editing of his piece also makes it a stand out."

"My podcast is about the Tabletop Roleplaying game called Dungeons and Dragons. In my podcast, I start with a brief explanation of the game. I also explain my experiences and background with the game, and I interview a couple of my friends about how they started to play the game. To finish I give a concise history of the game and its use in pop culture. The main point of my podcast is to persuade the listener to become interested in Dungeons and Dragons. I enjoy playing the game, so I figured it would be an easy, fun and entertaining subject to do a podcast about." - Grant Pitcher       Click to listen.
