Cross Country Teams Sprint to Victory at Sebastian River Sharks Invite

On 10/9/21, all of the Saint Edward's School cross country teams competed in the Sebastian River Sharks Invitational at Sebastian River High School.
 
The varsity girls cross country team placed 4th out of 10 teams with a total score of 133. Leading the Lady Pirates were Luna Rivera ,18th place (23:22); Savanna Ware, 21st place (23:38); Isabella Cooper, 27th place (24:08); Anna Marie Zugrave, 31st place (24:19); and Dhanika Perez, 47th place (25:39) Sienna Mallon also ran an impressive 25:44 for a season-best. 
 
The varsity boys cross country team placed 13th in a competitive field. The Pirates were once again lead by a cohort of mainly young runners. Seventh-grader Jack Curley (20:53) led the team with a 51st place finish. He was followed by junior Jack Eidemueller (21:31), freshman Nathan Alexander (21:49), eighth-grader Jimmy Collins (23:29), and eighth-grader Thomas Leonard (23:34). 
 
The middle school girls cross country team claimed three top 15 finishers in their 3k race: Nevin Waddell, 6th place (15:18); Isabella Peter, 9th place (16:51); and Keira Carroll, 12th place (17:34).
 
The middle school boys cross country team finished 1st overall in the team race with a total of 34. Charlie Corrigan (12:07) finished in 1st place to lead the Pirates on the course. Dean Sincavage in 5th place (13:47), Reid Durham in 6th place (13:52), Spencer Taft in 10th place (14:33), Matthew Stern in 12th place (14:57), and Jackson Colontrelle in 15th place (16:31) all helped the Pirates seize their victory. 

 
For varsity, next meet is away on 10/16/21 at the South Fork Invitational in Stuart, starting at 7:20 AM
For middle school, next meet is away on 10/12/21 at Master's Academy of Vero Beach, starting at 4:00 PM.
