Food Drive Crushes Previous Records

MJ (lk)
The Saint Edward's School community is committed to supporting our friends and neighbors every day with activities that include peer tutoring, Kenya tutoring, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, the Christmas toy drives and more. This week, however, broke records. Father Barrett learned that the local Food Bank was struggling with helping families ahead of the holidays, and our Pirates heeded the call. The Student Council and Community Service clubs teamed up with Father Barrett to promote the food drive, and after loading a truck to almost over-full, the Food Pantry of Indian River County called to tell us that our community donated 7,000 lbs of food for our neighbors. We almost doubled last year's donation, and more than tripled the donations from the year before. Thank you to all of the families who contributed to this cause -- bellies will be full because of your thoughtful contributions.
