Varsity Track & Field Exhibits Solid Performance at South Fork Invite

The varsity track and field team traveled to South Fork High School in Stuart to compete in the South Fork Invite. Throughout the meet, both teams showcased their impressive growth on the track and in the field events; and the girls team finished 9th of the 11 teams.

For the Lady Pirates, Elizabeth Campbell placed 4th in the 400m, Jacquelyn Perrin placed 5th in the 1600m and 7th in the 3200m, Sophie Rosenstein placed 8th in the 1600m, and Tyler Colgan placed 8th in the 3200m. The 4x100m girls relay team, composed of Adterria Holloway, Marlo Wilkerson, Mia Perez, and Tajani Gayle, secured 7th place, and the 4x800m team, consisting of Luna Rivera, Anna Marie Zugrave, Colgan, and Perrin, captured 5th place. In the field events, Meagan Baker placed 2nd in Javelin, 4th in Discus, and 5th in Shot Put.

For the boys team, Gary Anderson hit personal records in all of his events, which included a 12.87 in the 100m. Teammate Cody Simmonds also recorded personal records in the 100m and 200m. Tyler Ross broke the school record with 25.69 in the 200m and set the record in the 400m Hurdle with a 1:10. Ross also broke his own record in the Long Jump with 5.63m. In field events, William Suleman, too, broke his own personal record, throwing 19.82m in Javelin.
