Seventh grader Alexandra Stern and senior Tomas Botero competed at the FHSAA Region 2 Swimming tournament on 11/10/2018 at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando.
Alexandra came in 5th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:11.44 and placed 8th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:36.25. Tomas came in first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:45.64 and in second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.66.
Tomas will head to states for the 5th time which will be held at Sailfish Splash Waterpark/Aquatics Center in Stuart on 11/16/18.
Congratulations to seniors Elizabeth Zoltak and Will Sternberg who were recognized as Wendy's Heisman school winners for 2018 for Saint Edward's School. The scholarship award is presented annually to a top female and male student-athlete that best respresents excellence in athletics, academics, community involvement and leadership in your school who has a 3.0 or above GPA average.
Varsity Cross Country competed at the district tournament on 10/27/18 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne.
The girls' team finished third at the district meet. Leading the way for the girls were Elizabeth Zoltak in 8th place (22:37), Elise Mallon in 11th place (23:15), Bridget Nelson in 22nd place (25:48). Sandy Kelso and Jane Callaghan also ran great races to help the Pirates advance.
The boys' team finished second in the district meet. They were led by Liam Kavolius in 4th place (19:44), Christopher Fashek in 5th place (19:49), Jack Dobson in 16th place (20:16), Aidan Taylor in 17th place (20:16) and Christopher Schulze in 19th place (20:32). Marcus Fini and DrewEidemueller also ran great races to help the Pirates.
Our Athlete for the month of August is senior Will Sternberg, Athletes for the month of September are sophomore Ian Horvit and senior Catherine Campione, Athletes for the month of October are freshman Alexa Soderman and junior Liam Kavolius. The Middle School cross country team competed in the Mid-Coast Athletic Conference final on 10/16/18 at Master's Academy in Vero. For the girls: Sienna Mallon in 5th place and Dhanika Perez in 8th place. The MS Boys Cross Country team ended their season on a high note when they braved the heat to take home the MCAC Trophy last week.

The Lady Pirates varsity volleyball team were able to have a successful Senior Night who defeated Master's Academy of Vero 25-23, 25-15, 25-23 on 10/9/18.
Catherine Campione had 13 kills and 13 digs, Kira Zudans had 4 aces, 4 kills and 2 blocks, Lauren Savage had 15 digs and 4 assists, Sylvia Kong had 1 ace and 3 digs, Molly McGee had 15 assists and 12 digs.

On 10/8/18 the varsity boys and girls cross country teams hosted a tri-meet on Senior Night against John Carroll Catholic High School from Fort Pierce and Master's Academy from Vero Beach.
The girl's team defeated John Carroll Catholic High School and Master's Academy. Elizabeth Zoltak placed 2nd with a time of 23:48. She was followed by Hailey Rhymes (26:30), Bridget Nelson (27:22), Sandy Kelso (27:35), and Jane Callaghan (32:48).
The boy's team placed second and were led by Liam Kavoulis in 3rd (19:50), Christopher Fashek in 4th (20:41), Aidan Taylor in 8th (21:00), Jack Dobson in 10th (21:05), and Andrew Hurwitz in 11th (21:42).
