Just as the sea shapes the shore, life on Florida’s Treasure Coast
shapes who we are at Saint Edward’s School.
Being a Pirate means exploring with courage and embracing adventure. This spirit nurtures a lifelong love of learning and the confidence to venture into the unknown.

As one of Florida’s top PK–12 schools and the premier choice in Indian River County, we encourage every child to chart their own course — guided by a tradition that inspires academic inquiry, service and moral leadership.

Over 60 Years of Educating and Inspiring Students

Saint Edward’s School was founded in 1965 by a group of Vero Beach parents who wanted a strong college-preparatory education for their children. At the time, families seeking this level of education had no choice but to send their children to boarding schools in the northeast.

Inspired by the success of Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, and with guidance from Rev. Hunter Wyatt-Brown and local leader John Morrison, these parents turned their vision into reality. The school opened its doors on September 22, 1965, welcoming 31 students in grades five through eight, beginning a lasting tradition of academic excellence and community in Indian River County.

Cherished Traditions

At Saint Edward’s, traditions aren’t just events – they’re experiences your family will remember for years to come. Over the years, these cherished traditions have become a defining part of our school culture.

From time-honored ceremonies to creative celebrations, these moments bring the community together, foster meaningful connections and create core memories that you and your child will carry long after your Saint Edward’s journey. Here, your family doesn’t just witness traditions – you’re part of them.
