March 18 Isn't Just for Leprechauns

MJ
Got a green thumb? March 18 isn't just for the luck 'o the Irish -- it's also a day to share your love of the Indian River Lagoon. Even if houseplants don't stand a chance in your home, you have an opportunity to play an important role in improving our precious waterways. Through a partnership with ORCA, local lagoon lovers will gather at 9 a.m. at DeSoto park to plant species along the water's edge that will protect the shoreline and all of the baby critters who rely on places to hide and grow. These important plants also help keep the waters of the lagoon clean. Plan to bring a pair of gloves and your own water. Interested in learning more? Contact Mrs. Nelson in the Marine Bio department.
