Cross Country Takes Part in Astronaut Invitational

On 9/7/19, the varsity cross country team competed at the Astronaut Invitational which was held at the Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville. Over 45 different schools from around the state came out for the competition.

The Lady Pirates finished 31st, ahead of Vero Beach High School, Pine School, and Covenant Christian.  
Elise Mallon paced the Varsity Girls with an impressive 22:05 5K. Sarah Wolf (25:06), Ellie MacMullan (25:21) and Bridget Nelson (27:40) also added to a strong opening performance.

The Pirate boys set a positive tone for the upcoming season in this large race as well. The varsity boys team was led by Liam Kavolius (19:49), Christopher Schulze (21:07), Drew Sternberg (21:16), Mac Carnell (21:10) and Aidan Taylor (21:17). 

The junior varsity boys team was led by Eli Barin (22:44), Luke Damiani (22:44), Sam Thomas (23:21), Jake Damiani (23:41) and Ricky Savage (25:10).

Next meet will be on 9/10/19 at the Wayne Cross Invitational at Lawnwood Stadium in Fort Pierce, starting at 4:00 pm.
