Grandparents' Day Highlights from the Art Studio

Grandparents who visited the 6th-grade art class on Grandparents Day were treated to a Past and Present Day activity led by Lourdes Alvarez-Rogers. Grandparents and students had a list of items to choose from. Examples included transportation, technology, and fashion. They were to choose one of those to draw. The grandparents had to draw how it used to look like when they were in 6th grade and students drew it in the present day. Example, Past: washboard and  Present day: washing machine. Records/record players and Spotify. The families shared their artworks with the class. It was so much fun seeing the grandparents draw with their grandkids as well as hearing the grandparents share what it was like when they were growing up.
