Varsity Volleyball Crowned Bronze Championship Victors

The varsity volleyball team recently participated in the SSAA Volleyball Invitational Blue Division Tournament at AdventHealth Fieldhouse & Conference Center in Winter Haven. The format for the tournament was best out of 5 rounds and culminated over a 2-day period. Showing determination on the courts, the Pirate team ended up walking away as the Bronze Championship winners.

On 8/22/25, the Pirates first faced Lakewood Ranch High School in a heated 23-25 battle in the first set but fell overall in the second 7-25. Next, the team took on the Brevard HEAT Firehawks but came up short in 2 close sets: 20-25 and 15-25. In their final game of the day against Altamonte Christian School, the Pirates trailed in the 1st set 11-25 but rallied to seize the next 2 sets away from the Eagles 25-9 and 15-9.

Energized by the previous day's win, the Pirates started again fresh on 8/23/25, first taking on All Saints Academy. The team handily declared a victory over the Saints in 2 sets: 25-17 and 25-14. Facing International Community School in their final game of the tournament, the Pirates saw a competitive matchup against the Comets. The Pirates, however, showed their tenacity on the court to win in thrilling straight sets over their opponents (25-19, 26-24) and claimed the Bronze Championship title.
