Thrilling 5-Set Win for Varsity Volleyball Over Okeechobee HS

On 8/27/25, varsity volleyball took on Okeechobee High School in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center for their first home game of the regular season. The Pirates easily won their 1st set against the Brahmans 25-9, but their opponents came back with vengeance, narrowly claiming the next 2 sets 20-25 and 21-25 against the Pirates. The Pirates came together collectively as a team to fight off the Brahmans in the 4th set with a tight 26-24 victory. Proving too much for their opponents, the Pirates sealed the win in the 5th set 15-10 to claim the victory.

Margaret Fykes and Grace Clemente gave standout performances on the court for the Pirates: with M. Fykes recording 3 aces, 36 assists, 7 digs, and 2 blocks, and Clemente tallying 19 kills, 4 aces, 1 assist, 10 digs, and 1 block. Makena Rodriguez brought 7 kills, 4 aces, and 7 digs, and CJ Fykes contributed 7 kills, 1 ace, 6 digs, and 1 block. Grace Fykes led the Pirates in digs with 13 and added 3 aces and 3 assists. Also putting up great stats towards the Pirate team victory were Khlieo Perez with 4 kills and 2 blocks, Alice Crean with 3 kills and 1 block, and Maddie Moscrip with 1 ace.
 
Next game is at home on 8/28/25 versus Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, starting at 6:00 PM in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center.
