Varsity Volleyball Named District Runners-Up

The varsity volleyball team returned to Merritt Island Christian School in Merritt Island on 10/16/25 to play against the Brevard Heat in the Class 1A District 8 Finals. The Pirates might have been down the 1st set 18-25, but they flipped the score on the Firehawks in the 2nd set to win 25-18. The Pirates pushed ahead with a 25-11 win in the 3rd set but saw the Firehawks come back in the 4th set 15-25. With the competitive match tied 2-2, the Pirates and Firehawks went head-to-head in the thrilling 5th set, with the Pirates narrowly falling to their opponents 12-15. The Pirates have emerged as the runners-up for their district, but will advance to the Regional Quarterfinals next week.
