Straight Sweep for Varsity Boys Tennis in Season Opener
The varsity boys tennis team opened their regular season on 2/3/26 at Riverside Park Tennis Courts, playing against John Carroll Catholic High School. The Pirates swept the Golden Rams on the courts with an 7-0 victory.
Winning singles matches for the Pirates were #1 Jose Robledo Pretelt (8-0), #2 James Peponis (8-0), #3 Aneesh Chalasani (8-3), #4 Luca Ilie (8-0), and #5 Alex Mira (8-0).
The #1 boys doubles team of Robledo Pretelt/Peponis secured an 8-0 victory. Winning their #2 doubles match and sealing the Pirates' first sweep of the season was the team of Ilie/Mira (8-3).
Winning an exhibition singles matches for the Pirates were Christian Peter (8-0) and Diego Leal (8-0).
