Varsity Girls Cross Country Travels to State Competition

On 11/9/19, the Saint Edward's School varsity girls cross country team competed at the FHSAA State Championship meet for the first time in school history. The Lady Pirates traveled to Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee where they competed against other qualifying schools in the Class 1A race. Four out of the seven Saint Edward's racers ran their best time of the season, with three of those four setting a career-best.

Leading the way for the Lady Pirates was Elise Mallon, who managed to finish with a time of 21:47. Sarah Wolf ran a personal record of 23:53, besting her time by five seconds.

Coming in close behind were Ellie MacMullan and Savanna Ware, crossing the finish line together at 24:24. Both athletes achieved personal records in this race as well.

Hailey Rhymes ran a season-best at 27:27, and Natalie Burgoon finished up her cross country career with a solid performance.
