OT Heartbreaker for Varsity Girls Lacrosse

On 2/27/24, the varsity girls lacrosse team traveled to Viera to take on the Viera High School Hawks. Although the Hawks took an early lead, the Pirates kept it close, finally typing up the score halfway through the 3rd quarter. In the thrilling back-and-forth game, CJ Fykes put in the go-ahead score with about 1:50 left in regulation. The Hawks came back to tie it up with 40 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Despite the Pirates' best efforts, the Hawks secured the overtime win 12-11.

Leading the Pirate team in goals scored was Mary Kathryn Watson with 3, followed closely by Caitlin Moscrip and Fykes with 2 each. Teammates Aerin Russell, Kelly Lynch, Madeline Richards, and Nicollette Kennedy recorded 1 goal apiece. Making outstanding plays at the goal, eighth-grader Maddie Moscrip ended the contest with 9 saves in total.
 
Next game is away on 2/29/24 at Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, starting at 6:00 PM.
