Varsity Baseball Rolls Past Calvary Chapel Academy

The varsity baseball team hit the road for Fred Poppe Regional Park in Palm Bay to face off against Calvary Chapel Academy. The Pirates opened the scoring in the top of the 1st inning thanks to 2 sacrifice flies. Caden Freedman hit the first sacrifice fly, scoring 1 run and putting the Pirates on the board. The Pirate team added to their early lead in the top of the 2nd inning when Trey Dunlap hit a sacrifice fly, scoring 1 run, and Graham Hutton doubled, scoring 1 run. Saint Edward's added 1 run in the 3rd with Braylon Kirkland's single to center field, making the score 7-0. Continuing the trend through the end of the game, the Pirates easily dispatched the Eagles on the field, 12-0.

On the mound, Dunlap earned the win for the Pirates. The pitcher gave up 0 hits and 0 runs over 4 innings, striking out 7 and walking 1. Hutton tossed 1 inning of no-run ball for the Pirate team in relief. The pitcher gave up 1 hit, striking out 3 and walking 1.

The Pirates amassed 11 hits in the game. Hutton, Nolan Ange, Colton Freedman, Jack Torresson, and Kirkland each collected 2 hits for Saint Edward's. Ca. Freedman and Kirkland each drove in 2 runs, and Ange stole 2 bases.
 
Next game is the SSAA Tournament Playoffs on 4/2/26 against Keswick Christian School, starting at 10:00 AM at the Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford.
