Varsity Boys Soccer Crowned SSAA Class 2A Champions

Saint Edward's School played host to the recent Class 2A SSAA Championship Tournament. In the playoff game on 1/9/26 in Pirate Stadium, the Pirates took on Orlando Christian Prep School. The Pirates kept the Warriors at bay to seal a 4-2 victory and advance to the tournament final. Ruslan Gapkaloff scored 2 goals for the Pirates, and teammates William Kourakis and Reid Durham netted a goal apiece. Rory Barton provided the needed support for the Pirates to advance, tallying 3 assists. Connor O'Brien made 11 saves at goal for the Pirate team.

In the championship game on 1/10/26, the Pirates went up against Master's Academy of Vero. Despite being down 2-3 at halftime, the Pirates sounded the charge in the second half, effectively shutting down the Patriots. The battle on the Michael J. Mersky field was intense, but the Pirates emerged as the ultimate victors, defeating the Patriots 4-3. Durham impressed on the field for the Pirates, recording a hat trick. Barton secured 1 goal as well toward the tournament win. Completing 14 saves at the net was O'Brien.
 
Next game is Senior Night on 1/13/26 versus Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, starting at 4:30 PM in Pirate Stadium.
