#10 Ranked Varsity Girls Lax Upsets #5 Pine Crest

On 3/18/26, the varsity girls lacrosse team, ranked #10 for FHSAA's Class 1A went up against #5 ranked Pine Crest School at home in Pirate Stadium. Despite being down a few players due to illness, the Pirates maintained their composure on the field to stun the Panthers with the 8-7 victory.

Contributing toward the Pirate victory were Kelly Lynch and Lily O'Brien with 2 goals each; Caitlin Moscrip with 1 goal and 1 assist; Aerin Russell, Bebe Busch-Dunford, and Margaret Fykes with 1 goal apiece; and Brooke Moore and CJ Fykes with 1 assist each. Besides scoring the game-winning goal, Busch-Dunford also registered a blocked pass, a blocked shot, and 2 interceptions/forced turnovers during the critical 4th quarter. Avery Orzechowski recorded 3 ground balls, and teammate Lily Chin acquired 2 blocked passes and a forced turnover. Maddie Moscrip had another outstanding night goal with 10 saves.
  
Next game is at home on 3/20/26 versus St. Thomas Aquinas High School, starting at 4:00 PM on the Michael J. Mersky Field.
