Big 3rd Inning Paves Way for Varsity Baseball's Defeat of Firehawks

On 3/24/26, varsity baseball headed to Fred Poppe Regional Park in Palm Bay to play against the Brevard HEAT. The Pirates scored 9 runs in the 3rd inning as they made their way to victory: Rodney Stephens doubled, scoring 2 runs; Braylon Kirkland drew a walk, scoring 1 run; Graham Hutton hit a sacrifice fly, scoring 1 run; AJ Francis singled, scoring 1 run; Nolan Ange singled, scoring 2 runs; and Caden Freedman singled, scoring 1 run.

Jack Torresson earned the win for the Pirates at the mound. The pitcher gave up 1 hit and 2 runs (0 earned) over 3 innings, striking out 2 and walking 2. Ange pitched one inning of no-run ball for Saint Edward's in relief, surrendering 1 hit and striking out 3.

At bat, Ange proved a valuable part of the Pirates' victory, driving in 4 runs on 4 hits: singling in the 3rd inning, scoring 2 runs; and singling in the 4th inning, scoring 2 runs. The Pirate team tallied 14 total hits in the game, and teammates Trey Dunlap, Francis, and Kirkland each stole multiple bases for the Pirates.
