Homecoming Week!

This has been a busy and productive week at Saint Edward’s School. Homecoming Week is more than just a series of events; it is a celebration of school spirit, community and tradition. This week serves as an opportunity for students, faculty, parents and alumni to come together in meaningful ways, reinforcing the sense of belonging that defines the Saint Edward’s experience.

One of the most important aspects of Homecoming Week is the way it builds school spirit. From the Alumni Legacy Breakfast that was held on Wednesday morning, where we celebrated 137 students who are children of 94 alumni, to themed dress-up days to pep rallies and athletic competitions, students of all ages have the chance to showcase their enthusiasm for the School. Other activities included the Upper School's Unity Day, as well as the Upper School participating in community service activities in our local community. These moments cultivate pride in being a Pirate and remind everyone that they are part of something larger than themselves. Younger students see role models in the older grades, while upper school students are reminded of the responsibility they hold in carrying forward traditions.

Equally important, homecoming fosters community connections. Parents, grandparents and alumni return to campus to celebrate, strengthening ties between past and present. Alumni in particular serve as a living reminder of the enduring value of a Saint Edward’s education. Their participation inspires current students to recognize that they, too, will one day join this network of graduates who remain connected long after their years on campus.

Finally, Homecoming Week provides joyful moments of unity. Whether cheering on our Pirates, enjoying the Pirate Picnic or simply enjoying time with friends, students and families alike create memories that will last for years. In a world that often feels fragmented, Homecoming reinforces the importance of shared traditions and collective joy.

At Saint Edward’s School, homecoming is not just about looking back; it is about celebrating the present and building momentum for the future. It is a week that reminds us of who we are, where we have come from and where we are going together.

It was definitely a great week to be a Pirate!

I look forward to seeing you around campus!
