Math and Science Sensory Fun in PK4

In a recent math and science activity for our PK4 students, we incorporated Wikki Stix, puzzles, push pins and tangrams to create a hands-on, sensory-rich learning experience. The children started by using Wikki Stix which helped refine their fine motor skills and develop shape recognition. They then moved on to completing puzzles fostering problem-solving and spatial reasoning. Afterward, the students used push pins to punch holes along the edges of their shape designs, providing a fun sensory activity that also improved their hand-eye coordination. Finally, the children explored tangrams, where they used different shapes to design animals and objects, allowing them to express creativity while reinforcing their understanding of geometry and patterns. This multi-faceted activity not only engaged their senses but also encouraged fine motor development and early math skills.
