Sandy Kelso Earns Laura Riding Jackson Foundation Fellowship

Louise Kennedy (lk)
After attending a number of workshops through the Laura Riding Jackson Foundation that covered everything from editing to Shakespeare to writing poetry with the nationally recognized poet Naomi Nye, Sandy Kelso submitted some polished writing of her own to the board.  Her two beautiful poems capture Sandy's writing style well. One poem deals with the intimate relationship between a reader and her book, and the other deals with the human capacity for worry. These poems earned Sandy the distinction of Teen Writing Fellow. She will be invited to the annual Poetry and BBQ event hosted by the Foundation in April. She'll also be asked to read her poems alongside major contemporary poets, and that is an honor well-deserved by this young woman. Congratulations, Sandy!  #PiratePride  #HowSESLearns
