Personal Records at Regional Meet for Lady Pirate Weightlifters
Grace Rodriguez and Tyler Colgan represented St Edwards at FHSAA 1A Region 8 weightlifting meet last Wednesday, January 29. This competition is for varsity weightlifting. Both girls lifted in the 101lb weight class that was populated with eight other high school age girls. Tyler placed 6th out of the field of 10 lifters with a personal record bench of 70lbs and a clean & jerk of 70 lbs for a personal record 140 lb total. Grace placed 5th with a personal record total of 145 lbs coming from a personal record 75 lb bench press and a 70 lb clean & jerk. Grace and Tyler, along with Meagan Baker, another 8th grader, will form the foundation of the team as they move into high school. Congratulations, ladies!
