Varsity Baseball Extinguishes HEAT

On 2/18/20, the varsity baseball team hosted the Brevard HEAT on Blue Diamond Field for their first home game of the season. The Pirates upset the Heat, winning 7-1.

The Pirates moved ahead in the first inning when they scored on a defensive error.  In the third inning, the team scored five runs, with Casey Richey, Zander Beare, and Camren Perez each driving in runs. Beare went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pirates in hits.

On the pitcher's mound, Casey Richey helped earn the win for the Pirates.  Richey went five innings, allowing only one run on one hit, striking out eleven, and walking one. Relief pitcher Corey Richey threw two innings, recording the last six outs to help bring home the victory for the Pirates. 


Next game is at home on 2/20/20 versus Heritage High School of Palm Bay, starting at 6:00 PM.
