Varsity Baseball Shuts Out Cougars

The varsity baseball team recorded their first no-hitter of the season at home against Merritt Island Christian School on 3/2/20. The Pirates upset the Cougars, winning 15-0.

The Pirates scored three runs in the first inning and went on to achieve a nine-run second inning. Batting in a win for their team were Aidan Burdick, Corey Richey, Michael Mangieri, Travis Camp, Aidan Taylor and Aidan Heaney. The team put up one run in the third inning and closed the game with a two-run fourth inning.

Pitcher Richey helped lead the Pirates to victory from the hill. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Relief pitcher Heaney threw one inning, recording the last three outs that sealed the Pirate victory.


Next game is away on 3/3/20 at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, starting at 6:00 PM.
